Rewind 2010...

Dear Varun

The year 2010...what a year it has been! From being a snug baby inside Mommy's tummy to the wailing baby who arrived on March 22nd to an almost standing, crawling toddler. Cant imagine all this happened in less than a year!

Years go by with nothing much changing and then comes along this roller coaster of a year (with more ups than downs) where so much happened that you want to sit back and rewind the year to enjoy and relive every moment.

so here is a recap; not in pictures but in words-

1. Mommy became Mommy. Seems trivial but if you knew me before you were born, its monumental! No one person has brought so much change in me as you! so ya , kudos to you!
2. The first few months after your birth- oh..I dont remember, a whirlwind. From trying to know what you wanted to praying that you'll not get up at the drop of a pin: there was a lot to learn. Thankfully your Nani and Ajji were around and we sailed through most of it!
3. Milestones! - yes we were exhilarated at each one of them; rolling over,smiling, keeping your neck steady, crawling, teething, sitting , the boos and coos and so many others!
4. The nights! - cannot skip this one. From 2 hour naps to more than 8 hours at a stretch, Mommy cant thank you enough :)

The start of a new decade in your life and mine! Looking forward to all the fun we will have next year!

Ajoba's trip to visit Varun

Ajoba made a short trip to meet Varun. Varun enjoyed the strolls he and his Ajoba took. He enjoyed the songs that Ajoba sang to him and most of all, he enjoyed his company. Here are some pics with Ajji and Ajoba.

Somehow V is never gentle with books. always willing to throw them or tear them(if only he could!). Mommy tries to read to him every night but hasn't succeeded yet :(



V cant crawl yet but he sure can move! Uses his head to go forward...

Changes galore...

I thought its time I wrote about all the changes you have brought about in me

• I became a mother(duh!, we already knew that). Not just by the virtue of giving birth but by feelings I go through when I see you, the pinch I feel when I see you cry and the joy I feel when I see you smile
• I value my life more, its even more important for me to stay healthy and fit to see you grow and be there for you
• All the kids in the world have suddenly come into existence for me. I see older kids and imagine what you would be at that age and I see younger kids and try to remember what you did at that age.
• I value and love my parents even more now that I am a parent. 

Now onto some funny, perplexing changes

• I have to remind myself to cuss less. After all, I don't want you to grow up and say that I learnt this from my mom! what an embarrassment!
• I am learning to be more patient. Just when I have had enough with your late night wails , I have to check myself from pulling my hair apart !! 
• Milk, burp, potty,diapers are my latest buzzwords!
• Your poop is a moment of rejoice in the household and I give high fives for it!
• I have to check myself from talking about you all the time to people. After all I was one of those who couldn't imagine why parents have nothing else to talk about but their kids!

Milestone Alert:Teething!

He has been teething for more than a month now but its one of those milestones which brings along pain and discomfort. Its a milestone all the same! cant wait for his first tooth to cut through. Till then he will be gnawing at his teethers as he is in the picture below!

Annaprashan

Varun had his Annaprashan ceremony today!Annaprashan is the first time an infant is given solid. Nana did the honors and Nani made the delicious kheer.
It was Varun's first visit to the temple where he was also blessed by the Gods.

Welcome Mowgli!

Varun's best friend just arrived on the scene last night!
Baby Roy was born July 29th , 6lbs 5 ounces and 21 inches tall.
Here's wishing that the two boys develop a great bond and friendship between them just like their mommies have.

I see them do lots together. Play,learn,grow and yes ,fight!
